STANISŁAWA CELIŃSKA
Graduate of the State High School of Theatre in Warsaw. In 1970 one could see her for the first time on the screen: she played the part of Nina in the film: Krajobraz po bitwie (Landscape After Battle). For this creation she was awarded the prize in Łagów. Celińska worked simultaneously in film and theatre. In 1975 she appeared in the role of Agnieszka Niechcic in Noce i dnie (Nights and Days). In 1977 during the 17th Kalisz Theatre Meetings, she received the award for the role of the Daughter-in-Law in the spectacle: Wcześniak (Premature), and one year later, in 1978 the award from Przyjaźń (Friendship) weekly for the role of the Prosecutor in a television theatre production Most (The Bridge). In 1982 she appeared in the TV Theatre spectacle: Szalona Greta (Crazy Greta) by Stanisław Grochowiak – her creation was widely prized – she was granted the Award of Chairman of the Committee for Radio and TV. In 1985, during the 20th All-Poland Review of Short Form Theatres, she received the award of the Minister of Culture and Art for refined poetic interpretation of poetry in De profundis. One year later Stanisława Celińska was distinguished by the Silver Cross of Merit. In 1993 she could be proud of the First prize at the Polish Television Art Festival for a supporting female role in the production Warsztat – gala (Workshop – gala), presented during the Actor’s Song Review in Wrocław, during the I Festival of the Polish Television Production. In 1994 she created the role of Iza Gąsiareczka in Spis cudzołożnic (List of Lovers), prized during the 19th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia. Furthermore, for outstanding stage achievements, she was the laureate of the Prometeusz Award in 1994. Appearing as Gertrude in the production of Shakespeare's Hamlet staged at Warsaw's Variety Theatre in 1999, she believed this role to be one of the most essential challenges in her actor’s life. Afterwards, in 2000 she was nominated to the Award of the Eagle, the Polish Film Award, for the role of Mrs Poznańska in Fuks (Fluke). Cooperated with the Warsaw theatres: the Contemporary Theatre, the New Theatre, the Dramatic Theatre and the Studio Theatre. In the season 1990/91 she was appearing in the New Theatre in Poznań.
