KRZYSZTOF GLOBISZ
Studied at the Actor Faculty of the Ludwik Solski State Theatre School in Kraków. His debut on the stage took place in 1980, when he created the role of Karl Rossman in the play of Franz Kafka America (1980), directed by Jerzy Grzegorzewski in the Polish Theatre in Wrocław – he performed there from 1980 to 1981. In 1981 he made a decision to continue his professional life with the National Helena Modrzejewska Old Theatre in Kraków, where he has been achieving impressive artistic successes. His first appearance on the small screen took place in 1980, in the costume serie by Andrzej Wajda and Edward Kłosiński: Z biegiem lat, z biegiem dni (As Years and Days go by). Three years later he debuted on the cinema screen in the historic movie by Andrzej Wajda: Danton, in the company of Gerard Depardieu. The critics favour gained owing to the role of the advocate-idealist, Piotr Balicki, in the dramatical movie by Krzysztof Kieślowski: Krótki film o zabijaniu (A short film about killing) (1987) and telefilm Dekalog V (Decalogue V) (1988). In the film Wszystko, co najważniejsze (All that really matters) (1992) created the role of Aleksander Wat. Creation of Bogdan Lewicki, the bandmaster of the army orchestra in the television movie by Robert Gliński Długi weekend (Long Weekend) (2004) led him to the prize on the 29th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, for the foreground male role. The statue of Jańcio Wodnik was awarded to him at the All Polish Festival of Film Art “Prowincjonalia’” in Września, for the creation of the Angel Giordano, in the comedy by Artur Więcek “Baron’” – An Angel in Kraków. Furthermore, he appeared in the films by Jan Jakub Kolski – Pornografia (Pornography) (2003) and Jasminum (2006). In 2005 distinguished by the “Gloria Artis” Silver Medal of Cultural Merit.
