THE KATOWICE CITY SINGERS' ENSEMBLE "CAMERATA SILESIA"

The Ensemble has been performing since 1990. It is  famous in Poland, but also abroad from perfect and recherche interpretations of both: the early music and modern partitures, often composed especially for the ensemble. Apart from the masterpieces performed a capella by 16 members of the ensemble, musicians participate in the Polish as well as foreign vocal-  instrumental projects; moreover, they do not hesitate to appear in the music projects with the own soloist cast or cooperate with worldwide famous artists. One cannot forget about the efforts of “Camerata Silesia” to promote the Polish music. In its repertoire the more popular music genres can be found- owing to the professional development and excellent interpretations-being always of the highest quality. Distinguished phonographic output of the ensemble includes thirteen CDs and was frequently appreciated and awarded. Opinions of the Polish and world criticism are unanimous-  superb, world level.

ANNA SZOSTAK

A founder of the ensemble "Camerata Silesia”, believed to be one of the most distinguished Polish choir conductors. Elements as an artistic profile of the ensemble, style of performance, choice of repertoire and ‘personality’ are owed to her. Laureate of Minister of Culture’s Award for special artistic achievements in 2004, praised by the Chapter of Jerzy Kurczewski  Award for ‘outstanding achievements in the field of choral singing.
