ZBIGNIEW ZAMACHOWSKI
Talented actor, author of the music and songs’ lyrics. As he states himself, he comes from a nice city between Warszawa and Łódź (was born in Brzeziny, on 17th July). Already in his childhood, he created various melodies, using different kind of objects to play. In the primary school he started to create songs. Being the student of the high school, he participated in numerous local and all-Polish festivals, where his texts and compositions were often prized. Graduate of the Economical School and the Music School, in 1985 graduated from the Actor’s Faculty of the State Film and Theatre School in Łódź. One of the most popular actors of his generation. Appeared, among others, in the films by Kazimierz Kutz (Pułkownik Kwiatkowski (Colonel Kwiatkowski), Zawrócony (Turned back), Sława i chwała (Fame and Glory)), Krzysztof Kieślowski (Dekalog 10 (Decalogue 10), Trzy Kolory- Biały (Three Colors- White)), as wells the ones by Andrzej Wajda, Jacek Borowski, Maciej Wojtyszko, Filip Bajon and Wojciech Marczewski. He made his debut in 1981 in a great role in Wielka majówka (Great Picnic) by Krzysztof Rogulski. He got the S. Wyspiański award of the first grade for his actor’s achievements in the theatre and film (1989) as well as copious national awards (Wiktor ’93., ’96. and ’97., Złota Kaczka ’93 (Golden Duck ’93), and the master diploma- Prof. Aleksander Bardini Award during the 18th Actors’ Song Review in Wrocław) and international ones. He was two times awarded for the background male part during the Polish Feature Film Festival. After his studies he worked at The Studio Theatre in Warsaw, where he was performing from 1985 to 1997. Currently, he is an actor of The National Theatre. Moreover, the actor devotes his time to the educational activity- he is the lecturer of the actor song in the Theatre Academy in Warsaw. Zbigniew Zamachowski’s wife is Aleksandra Justa and they have got four children. In his free time he likes playing football, tennis and golf.
