Symphonic Orchestra of the Czestochowa Philharmonic Hall
First official symphonic concert took place in March 1945 – the orchestra was the second one in the post-war Poland. In 1965 the orchestra moved to its new seat and has been residing there till now. From this time renowned musicians, conductors and foreign ensembles have come to Częstochowa. Besides symphonic concerts, chamber music concerts, educational ones, the orchestra was a host and organiser of the following music festivals: The Polish Violin Festival, Jeunesses Musicales Pro Musica Festival, the Youth Music Festival and Ars Chori. First two of them were continued for years. In 1976 when the Voivodeship of Częstochowa started to exist, the orchestra got name the Philharmonic. Then there was more number and forms of concerts. Almost every kind of music was played: oratorio and cantata masterpieces, symphonic, popular, chamber music as well as recitals. Musicians of the orchestra played also in small ensembles. The Częstochowa Orchestra participated many times in the festivals organized by the Philharmonic: Częstochowa Guitar Meetings and Traditional Jazz Festival Hot Jazz Spring. It always takes part in the Bronisław Humberman Violin Festival, which has been organised since 1997. Besides the activity in own concert hall, the Orchestra is also invited to many festivals both in Poland and abroad, among others in Austria, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, South Korea and Sweden. The Częstochowa Philharmonic Hall Orchestra played during the most important international feasts. The ensemble has recorded several CDs and regularly takes part in TV and radio recordings. Since November 2011 Ireneusz Kozera has been the Director of the Częstochowa Philharmonic Hall. Since February 2012 Adam Klocek has been the Artistic Director of the Częstochowa Philharmonic Hall.
