“Camerata” Vocal Ensemble of Jasna Góra Monastery
The choir was created at the initiative of Father Nikodem Kilnar. Since January 2006 Jarosław Jasiura has been the conductor and manager of the choir. Choir members are grammar school students from Częstochowa. The main task of the choir is musical setting of the ceremonies taking place in Jasna Góra National Shrine. “Camerata” Vocal Ensemble performs numerous concerts including both church and secular works, early and contemporary music. The most important part of choir’s repertoire comes from Jasna Góra archives, namely the pieces which have been just discovered by Polish musicologists. The choir is the laureate of many prizes and distinctions, among others: Grand Prix at 5th National Competition of Passional Songs in Bydgoszcz, 1st place at 1st “Vratislavia Sacra” International Choral Festival in Wrocław 2011 (youth choirs category).
Jarosław Jasiura
As an 8-year-old boy he started his musical education in 1st Degree State Music School in Kluczbork in violin class. In 1994 he graduated from 2nd Degree F. Chopin State Music School in Opole in organ class with Elżbieta Kaszycka-Kowalczyk and in 1991 he graduated from Church Music College in Opole in organ class with Lucyna Glezner-Sun. He continued his education at Karol Lipiński Music Academy in Wrocław in two specializations: Musical Education (choirmaster faculty) with Bogusława Orzechowska and Symphonic Conducting with Prof. Mieczysław Gawroński (awarded with distinction). In academic year 1989/99 he was awarded a grant from Minister of Culture and Art. Jarosław Jasiura was also awarded many prizes and distinctions: Distinction at Choral Conducting Competition in Poznań (1998), 3rd Prize at “W stronę polifonii” (“Directed to Polyphony”) International Conducting Competition in Wrocław (1999), a prize for a distinctive conductor at 4th “Ars Liturgica” National Contest in Gniezno (2010). Since February 2005 he has been an organist and choirmaster at Jasna Góra Monastery.
